Cross Cutting Rule is manufactured according to BS3962-6,GB4893.4 standard design, withthe characteristics of convenient and simple. It is suitable for using to test the adhesion fastness of base material or bottom lacquer with the surface paint film of wood furniture and other wooden material which original degree is less than 250 mm.

Working principle and scope of application

  The instrument to a certain specification of the tool, the grid pattern to cut and penetrate the coating,
the cross-cut graphics completed by six categories, assess the coating from the substrate separation of the attachment.

 Working principle and scope of application

  The instrument uses a certain specification tool to cut and penetrate the coating pattern, and the finished

Operational method

1.  Test pieces must be prepared in accordance with ISOR1514 and ISO2828.

2.  Place the test piece on a plate with sufficient hardness.

3.  Hand-held guide gauge (100-gauge plate) makes the bottom surface completely flat with the surface of the surface coating.

4, the  use of uniform force suppression of the hundred grid, with a sharp knife to smooth the non-shake method of cutting at a cutting speed of 20-50mm / S.

5.  Rotate the hundred grid plate by 90 degrees and repeat the above operations on the cut slits to form a lattice pattern.

6.  Use a soft brush to clean off the shavings and use the pattern on the surface of the test piece.

7.  Apply a standard-compliant tape to the cross-hatched surface and tear off the tape to observe the coating adhesion strength on the surface.

Precautions

1.  All cuts should penetrate the coating, but the cut into the substrate should not be too deep.

2.  If the coating is too thick and hard to penetrate the substrate, the experiment is invalid, but it should be
stated in the test report.

3.  Stick the tape on the entire cross-hatching and then tear it off at a minimum angle. The result can be
obtained according to the proportion of the surface of the paint film being glued down.

4. The  test shall be carried out at a temperature of 23 & plus mn; 2 ° C and a relative humidity of 50 & plus mn; 5%.
